This letter is to inform parents and/or guardians of an event that occurred at 1:30 p.m. on May 5, 2008. We had another bomb threat written on a bathroom wall. The school was evacuated immediately. The LaFayette Police Department, 911, and the Superintendent’s office were notified. Hopefully, we will have a phone system in place next year that we can utilize to call students’ homes to notify parents of emergency situations.

My office has been contacted concerning students being kept at home for safety concerns. Our goal is to provide a safe and orderly environment where learning takes place. We have many teachers and staff who have students in this school. Surely, if they feel their own children are safe knowing what is being done, you can rest a little easier that your children are safe, too.

Extra precautions are being taken to try and prevent this from occurring again.
