Course Overview:
This class is divided into two parts: the first part is to provide students with the skills need to successfully study for and take test, and the second purpose is to provide the student with the knowledge and encouragement to become productive participates in our system of government.
Course Objectives:
1. To help students develop note taking skills and how to use those notes to study for and take tests.
2. To help students better understand the ways in which the American government works and to relate that understanding to becoming informed and productive citizens.
3. To help students develop an understanding of the colonization and founding of the United States of America.

Tardy:
Students who are not in the room at the time the bell rings will be counted as tardy.
Everyday Procedures: Go to your assigned seat
No food or drink (other than water) permitted
Have your book, something to write with (pen or pencil), and paper.

Always have your material
No one is to leave his or her seat without permission
Assessment: An assessment will be given each day. All bell ringers and exit tickets will be graded. In addition, tests and/or major written assignments will be given weekly. This course will have a comprehensive final, that covers all material studied over the entire semester.
Additional Requirements:
Each student will be required to keep a notebook/portfolio of all papers handed back and class notes. This notebook is to be kept neat and will be checked each week at the time of the weekly tests.
