Weight Training Syllabus Coach Neal 4th Block COURSE OBJECTIVEThis course is designed to increase student physical performance. Students will engage in strenuous weight lifting routines on a daily basis. Students will participate in drills that will increase agility and quickness. Students will increase cardiovascular endurance as well as muscular strength. Students will gain knowledge of correct eating habits and the needed caloric intake based on their weight and activity level to maintain healthy muscle growth. TextNo text is required for this course. Grading ScaleParticipation = 50% Skills Test = 30% Mid Term/Final = 20%
Course RequirementsIf a student is unable to participate due to a sickness or physical disability I must have a Doctor’s note to excuse them from working out. No parent notes are accepted. Otherwise students who do not participate will receive a 0 for the missed workout. If a student has an excused absence, they are excused from the workout they missed. If the student has an unexcused absence she will have points deducted from her grade. Students who participate in sports during the course of the semester will work out with light weights on the day of games. The Coaches have approved this. No one will sit out due to a sporting event after school. Rules
Students are expected to dress out everyday unless otherwise instructed. Students unable to perform all to most of the exercises and running should strongly reconsider taking this class.
