Physical Science
Prerequisite: None
The study of nature and properties of energy and non-living matter, and their interactions with each other. Physical Science is an introduction into the sciences of Chemistry and Physics. The first half is Chemistry, which deals with the elements (their importance, uses, and interactions). The second half is Physics, which deals with motion, forces, energy, sound, light, electricity, and magnetism.
Biology
Prerequisite: Physical Science
The study of life. Students will be learn about and apply biiological principles of the cell, genetics, evolution, and ecology. Students will also explore the diversity of living organisms, plants, invertebrates, vertebrates, and human biology.
Chemistry
Prerequisite: Physical Science & Biology
The study of the composition of substances and the changes they undergo. Chemistry is a comprehensive course which builds on previous knowledge. Math skills and problem solving are vital to the course.
Physics
Prerequisite: Physical Science, Biology, & Chemistry
The study of the natures of matter and energy and how they are related through areas such as motion, force, energy, gravity, wav es, sound, light, electricity, magnetism, and electromagnetism. The concepts behind these topics, problem solving using algebra and simple trigonometry, plus lab experiments investigating these areas are an integral part of this class.
Human Anatomy
Prerequisite: Biology
The study of body systems/ functions, the structure of body parts and their relationships to one another.
