Diversified Cooperative Training (DCT)

Diversified Cooperative Training I
DCT allows students opportunity to extend their employment preparations beyond the classroom. Involves students taking classroom instruction one block as well as one block of on the job training in a work environment in an area business. Class instruction concentrates on the areas of Leadership Skills development, Employment Skills development, Career Research, Personal Finance, and Consumerism. Students receive two (2) grades in DCT (class and cooperative learning experience).

Apprenticeship
A year round, structured combination of secondary education and work-based learning linked to a post secondary educational experience. Facilitates a smooth transition for the student from school to the world of work. It enables academically ready, self-motivated youth to enter into a work-based learning program of study that results in a high school diploma, a post secondary award and certification of industry-recognized competencies that are relevant to employment in a high skill occupation.

Apprenticeship/Internship
Internship provides work-based career exploration or course enhancement in areas of students’ interest. It requires supervision by a teacher, learning plan and signed agreement developed and evaluated by work-based mentor and instructor. At this time, Work Place Internship is only offered for the elementary education career fields.
