Accounting I
Prerequisites: Computer Applications
Accounting I is designed to place emphasis on basic principles, concepts, and procedures of accounting. Students are introduced to applications that use special types of business records and learn fundamental accounting procedures for personal use and a sole proprietorship business.

Accounting II
Prerequisites: Accounting I
Students build from previous knowledge to learn more advanced accounting including the accounting procedure for a partnership and merchandising corporation. Inventory, depreciation, and other special types of accounting transactions will also be included in this course.

Business Law
Prerequisites: Computer Applications
Students will learn how the legal system affects business operations through laws, torts, contracts, liability, the importance of partnership agreements, wills, corporate charters, etc.

Computer Applications
Prerequisite to ALL Business Classes
Students will learn to use computers as business tools through the use of the Internet, database, spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing software.

Digital Media Design and Production
Prerequisites: Computer Applications
Students will learn how to create documents such as resumes, letterhead, posters, flyers, menus, etc. using Microsoft Publisher software as well as learning how to manipulate and edit clipart and pictures with CorelDraw MX. May also include computer animation with Macromedia Flash

Entrepreneurial Ventures
Prerequisites: Computer Applications
Students will learn what it takes to plan/start their own business. Topics covered: business plan writing, financing, insurance, marketing, staffing, record keeping, and using technology to grow their business. Semester-long project will be to create a business plan for a business they are interested in starting.

Marketing Principles
Prerequisites: Computer Applications
Students introduced to central areas of marketing (economics, human relations and business basics) and the functional areas of marketing (product and service planning, marketing-information management, purchasing and pricing, selling and promotion, risk management, financing and distribution).

Sports and Entertainment Marketing
Prerequisites: Computer Applications
Students will learn how businesses sell products/services using sports and entertainment celebrities. Topics covered: sponsorship, product endorsements, celebrity agents and managers, and others.

Web Page Design
Prerequisites: Computer Applications
This class will consist of computer activities and projects in the areas of web design fundamentals. Students will learn to create websites with different types of programs. Also, they will learn to create and manipulate pictures and graphics for web page use.

Business Education Work-based Learning Coop
Prerequisite: Computer Applications and at least one other Business Class
Uses the “community as a classroom”, prepares students for employment. Work-based learning provides students with opportunities to receive academic/occupational preparation that equips them with the necessary skills for obtaining employment and/or entering postsecondary education. Enrollment in this class is based on instructor’s prior approval.
